Location photographer David Lawrence has traveled the world photographing transportation, environmental and construction projects for corporate clients. He describes himself as one who "specializes in photographing landscapes -- both natural and man-made." When presented a particularly majestic scene, Lawrence often chooses one of his panoramic cameras. "With a wide-view image the viewer feels a sensation of peripheral vision. They can look around at the details … or look at the whole scene. They can imagine being there. "

With a degree in environmental biology, his dream is to help people focus on the beauty and simplicity of nature.  Lawrence credits his continuous pursuit of knowledge as a key element to his success. You have "to know something about your subject" he explains. He is constantly reading and researching locations, subjects and equipment.

Through his assignment and self-directed travels, Lawrence has created an impressive collection of landscape and travel panoramics.  His images have been published by McDonalds, British Petroleum, American Airlines, Time Magazine, Business Week, Travel & Leisure and Hallmark to mention a few. His work has been featured in Photo Design, Photo District News, Studio Photography and The Best of Nature Photography book.

Recent efforts have been directed towards the field of environmental therapy, creating images that instill a sense of tranquility and relaxation for people in stress filled environments.  The large format wide-views work especially well for wallpaper and giant back lighted panels.  He finds gratification in knowing that an anxious MRI patient might experience the calming effects of one of his peaceful garden panoramics.

Lawrence lives on the Florida Gulf Coast near Tampa. He is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers, the International Association of Panoramic Photographers, and the North American Nature Photographers Association. He is also a member of the Florida Botanical Gardens, the Historic Bok Sanctuary and the Sierra Club.
